Farewell and Thank You Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile

Born: 27th January 1949
Died: 23rd January 2022
Prof. Emmanuel TUMUSIIME MUTEBILE studied Senior Secondary School from 1964-1967 at Kigezi College Butobere, staying at Makobore House.
Prof. Mutebile was the patron of Siniya Alumni Forum – SAF for the last ten (10) years. Since the launch that happened on 6th August 2011, Prof. Mutebile was, in every sense of the word, our patron, lovingly providing a light to guide, wisdom to nurture and financially supporting Kigezi College Butobere #TheOnlySiniya to rekindle.

Optimistic, brilliant, diplomatic and kind, Mutebile led by bringing out the very best qualities of those around him. His unquestionable concern about realities in Siniya’s wellbeing were evidenced by never giving up hope of change and improvement to the Lion that once was. Optimism was not an option to him; it was a duty.
He was a man of character who lived by high moral standards believing that we should be a nation of virtuous men. He would often take trouble throw in a few tips on etiquette during our dinners that have shaped most of us in our several engagements with the elite world.
As OBs and Siniya at large, we have faced challenges and threats to our very being over the years, yet we have always been able to seek comfort in Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile’s positive words, example of integrity, and constant willingness to guide and support his Alma mater.
Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile always made himself available after our calls for advice. We’ve had detractors of our causes from time to time, aiming to destroy the seed of hope from which the Siniya Alumni Forum began. Yet, with his great wit, generosity and love for #TheOnlySiniya, Prof. Emmanuel Mutebile often steered us to the shelter of safety. He showed by his example, that it was possible to live “in the world” but not be “of the world”.
Our Nation needs more people with these virtues and we must inculcate them in our children if we want to see an improvement in our country and build one of which we can all be proud.
As for his immediate family, dependents and friends, death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. We never would have felt ready to say good-bye to someone as special as Prof. Emmanuel T. Mutebile, but this timing feels especially tough.
Wishing you all comfort and strength for the days and weeks ahead. We will be praying for all of you. We hope you can find comfort in the memories and celebration of his life.
With a heavy heart, We pray for the eternal repose of one who was a Musiniya of distinguished humanity.
Farewell and Thank You Prof. Emmanuel Tumusiime Mutebile.
You may be gone but will never be forgotten.
