O Mighty Siniya

O Ye Mighty Siniya!
Like Babylon your great walls have fallen
The Voice of your roar is no more
The cunning of your descendants has gone as silent as Arctic winds
Your honour has been swallowed never to rise again as the ships of the Bermuda triangle
Your fame is lost like the ancient kings of the Persian empire.

We had our fathers sing and prophesy upon you,
That Men rise and fall like the winter snow,
But your great name will never die
That out of you, Leaders and Kings shall rise,
And your descendants shall flourish like the flower of the Himalaya mountains
And your legacy last like the sailors of the Caribbean sea.

But yet time has taken everything away from you
And your grandsons are sinking in failure
As though the mighty Siniya Spirit slid into Oblivion.
And your anthem is sung in pain and silence among your boys.

O Mighty Siniya!
What shall I tell my children about you!
Who will remember your name long after we are gone!
When will this curse upon you be broken!
When will the years of labouring end!
So that the Fraternity, Liberty, and Tranquility we sung about many years ago when we were lads minifest once more.

My heart shall wait upon that day,
When the fallen giant shall rise again,
And upon his roar, enemies shall flee his throne.
With the blessing of God, as the year succeeds another,
Success become eternal…
